Iceland Day 3 AKA MY 24th BIRTHDAY

Yep! It was my birthday! I got up and we went to get breakfast from the bakery round the corner. I had a pastry and a coffee and the girls were so lovely and bought me a chocolate cake. :)

We then hopped in the car to head to Mossfellsbaer! I had read that there were really nice walks around here and it was close to Mount Esja. It's also known as Green Town so assumed it would be pretty. As if anywhere in Iceland isn't pretty!

We parked up somewhere random and followed a footpath to check out some views.

After a short walk around we hopped in the car to find Lágafell, a hill that you could see all across Mossfellsbaer from. We drove up to a cute little church and went to walk up the hill. My god was it windy! We were literally getting pushed over by the wind. Worth it though! The views were stunning!

We then found a little shopping village place (nothing like you'd find in England) which was completely void of people. And open shops. But the cafe was open! I had pickled herring and a raw chocolate cake.

After filling our tummy's we went for another drive where we found this amazing church and climbed a hill and took a jumping photo.

We then drove some more and found a mountain which we climbed for a while. When we had our fill of climbing we went for more of a drive and found ourselves in a cool tunnel which led to a toll booth. When I explained that we had taken a wrong turning they let me turn around and just pay the toll for leaving.

Talk about a busy day! We needed a rest when we got back. But it was my birthday (and we were hungry) so it wasn't long before we headed out again. We found a hostel called Kex for a beer and some fries. Then we found a Big Lebowski themed bar for more beer. I got sleepy though so we weren't out late.

So Happy Birthday to me! I think a good life goal is to spend every birthday somewhere interesting. I was in LA last year with TrekAmerica. I wonder where I will be for Birthday 25!
